Michael Jackson took a new direction with “Dangerous”. The strategy paid off when the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in 1991 and by September 1994 had sold over 25 million copies worldwide. Worldwide sales are now approaching 40 million.
Mobile Fidelity’s numbered 180g 33RPM 2LP, sourced from the original masters, pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing in California and housed in a Stoughton gatefold jacket, presents “Dangerous” in audiophile quality for the first time. Jackson’s unmistakable vocals come across with incredible transparency and presence, along with the richness of his range and the highs of his falsetto voice. Also enjoy an expansive soundstage, generous instrumental separation, black backgrounds and wide dynamics.
“Dangerous” contains 14 songs, including hits like “Black or White”, “In the Closet”, “Remember the Time”, “Jam” and “Heal the World”. Each of the album’s nine singles was accompanied by a unique Michael Jackson short film, later summarized in Dangerous: The Short Films (1993).
