Includes three additional tracks not included on the 1981 album – “I Burn For You” (the single mix of the track from the “Brimstone and Treacle” album), “Once Upon A Daydream” & “Shambelle”.
To emphasize the uniqueness of this release and reflect the band’s idiosyncrasies, four tracks (“Spirits In The Material World,” “Rehumanize Yourself,” “One World (Not Three)” and “Hungry For You…”) contain Stewart’s count in tracks also not found on the 1981 album!
The side A design shows the front cover logo image, and side B shows the inside cover image, below. The Police’s fourth studio album, recorded at AIR Studios in Montserrat and Le Studio in Quebec, reached #1 on the UK album charts and was a multi-platinum bestseller
The original version featured three hit singles – “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” “Invisible Sun” and “Spirits in the Material World.” Other highlights include the vicious jazz rocker “Demolition Man” (later covered by Grace Jones), the fast-paced “Rehumanize Yourself” and the ballads “Secret Journey” and “Darkness.” The jazz influences became more apparent, but the album had a very strong, sophisticated pop appeal due to Sting’s songwriting talent.
