With “A Head Full Of Dreams” Coldplay ask to dance one last time
Coldplay fans are sort of caught between two stools these days, as the band has had both very good and equally bad news announced in 2015.
First of all, the good: With “A Head Full Of Dreams”, Coldplay present a new studio album – their seventh by now – just one year after “Ghost Stories”.
The album, which the band has been working on since the summer of 2014, is in a way the opposite of its wistful, melancholy predecessor, namely poppy, cheerful and colorful, as the cover already suggests. In addition, it is here and there also danceable, which again proves the first single “Adventure Of A Lifetime”. Coldplay gave a first foretaste of the album with this single on November 6, 2015.
In total, there are eleven new songs on “A Head Full Of Dreams” by the Brits, which they recorded together with producer Rik Simpson and the producer team Stargate. Vocal support was provided by none other than Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton.
In the end, the only bad news is that singer Chris Martin has already announced that “A Head Full Of Dreams” could be the band’s last album for the time being. This in turn does not mean that there will not be a successor at some point. A separation of the band is also not imminent.
With their new album, the “adventure of a lifetime” comes to an end, at least for the time being. “A Head Full Of Dreams” proves, however, that you can also go out in a good mood and colorful – Coldplay as we know and love them.
