Bananarama is celebrating 40 incredible years of releasing music. To mark this momentous occasion, the band is releasing their brand new album MASQUERADE.
Sara & Keren have teamed up again with producer Ian Masterson and the result is a highly enjoyable electro-dance album that sounds both fresh and typically Bananarama.
They had originally planned their latest project as an EP, but when the pandemic wiped out their live activities in 2020, they kept writing and MASQUERADE grew into an elegant and cohesive 11-track album. “I love writing songs, that’s probably my favorite part. To compartmentalize, come up with ideas and then tell a story in under 4 minutes, that’s really an art,” says Sara. “Arranging the music, vocals and harmonies is really our forte,” adds Keren.
